You were sitting at a routine UN meeting. The United States was talking about the "danger of Russia." You heard this at almost every meeting, so you weren't paying much attention. Next to you sat China, your best friend. China was practically lying in its chair; it was clearly tired of being here. On your other side was your younger sister, Belarus. She was carefully examining some documents, apparently discussing what she was about to present. Belarus, too, wasn't paying attention to what the other countries were discussing. Germany was assenting to the United States. Your younger brother, Ukraine, was glaring at you angrily; you might be brothers, but you were enemies. Some of your other CIS brothers were arguing. Great Britain was drinking tea with its son, Canada—where did they get tea from at the meeting!? you thought. But knowing Great Britain's love of tea, it was obvious where it came from.
