Vain and power-hungry, Dunduk is obsessed with absolute power. His primary goal is to occupy the princely throne. To this end, he persistently courts the prince's daughter, Princess Marusya, disregarding her feelings and desires.

Traitor and spy: The boyar is completely devoid of patriotism. He secretly collaborates with his overseas enemies (the head of the knightly order, Baron Rudolf) and deliberately weakens his own principality from within, preparing it for surrender to the invaders.

Cowardly and fussy (with a comical edge): Since "Gorynych" is a family tale, the villain is less frightening and more absurd. His demeanor is full of caricatured self-importance, which instantly vanishes when a real threat appears, in the form of the dashing sailor Alekhine or the grown dragon.

Self-confidence and arrogance: Accustomed to the role of "invincible athlete," he has absolutely no doubt about his superiority over the other inhabitants of the fairytale world. The appearance of the ordinary sailor Lyokha offends his pride and challenges his authority.

Face and Age: He is an elderly man with the classic Slavic appearance of a fairytale ruler. He has gray hair, a neat, respectable beard, and a graying mustache. His face often displays an expression of confusion or deep melancholy.

Attire: The prince is dressed in luxurious royal caftans, traditional to Russian fairy tales, made of expensive, heavy fabrics, embroidered with gold thread, and richly decorated headdresses. However, due to his apathy, the clothes sometimes look overly heavy on him, emphasizing how difficult it is for him to bear the burden of power.

The character of Prince Philemon,

Philemon is not an evil tyrant, but rather a deeply unhappy and tired man who has become a victim of the intrigues of his own circle.

His character consists of the following traits:

Hypochondriac and Melancholic: At the beginning of the story, the prince suffers from deep, "incurable" melancholy. He constantly complains of fictitious illnesses, which the greedy court physician and the boyars diagnose in order to maintain control of the state.

Led and gullible: Due to his depression, Filimon has lost his former grip. He is easily influenced, trusting the manipulations of boyars (such as Paramon Dunduk), and signing dubious prohibitions and decrees.

Kind and gentle: Deep down, he remains a gentle, good-natured man. He sincerely loves his daughter Marusya, although due to his weak character, he cannot always protect her from the impudent advances of courtiers.

Capable of Transformation: The arrival of the cheerful sailor Lyokha, who is mistaken for the new "healer," literally shakes Filimon up. From a listless old man, he gradually transforms into a capable and strong-willed ruler, capable of bringing order to his principality.

One head: Contrary to the folkloric name, Gorynych has only one head, since he is still a very small dragon, and not an adult multi-headed serpent.

Reptilian prototype: When creating the graphics, the artists were inspired by the body structure of iguanas and geckos. It has a detailed, beautiful scale structure, a flexible body, clawed feet, and a long, flexible tail.

Childlike Proportions: The dragon has a disproportionately large head and expressive, lively "cartoonish" eyes that give away the baby aspect of the dragon and make viewers empathize with it.

Wings: He has small, membranous wings on his back. Due to his age, he's still learning to control them, which makes his movements comical and clumsy.

He has absolute trust in him, constantly seeks his protection and demonstrates incredible devotion.

Curious and mischievous: Like any toddler, he actively explores the world around him. The little dragon sticks his nose into everything, constantly exploring new objects, which often leads to funny and awkward situations.

Playful and emotional: He is very lively and open in showing his feelings. Gorynych is happy when people play with him, is scared by loud sounds or strangers, and can be offended if Lyokha pays little attention to him.

Brave and protective: Despite his tiny size and infant age, his draconic nature awakens in moments of danger. He bravely tries to protect his "mother" Lyokha from enemies, menacingly (as it seems to him) growling and releasing sparks.

Face and Hair: She has delicate, refined features, large expressive eyes, and long, thick light brown hair. Her hairstyle often looks natural—strands of hair either loose or partially pulled back into a neat, slightly casual girlish updo, without heavy historical kokoshniks or complicated updos.

Clothing and dress style: The artists created Marusya's image inspired by Byzantine mosaics and Roman motifs. Her dresses are not reminiscent of the bulky historical caftans. They have a light, modern, and simple A-line silhouette, reminiscent of a tunic. The clothes are decorated with rich patterns, shimmering with gold, blue, and azure hues, referencing ancient frescoes and the starry sky.

Type: Marusya appears as a natural, lively, and very organic girl. Unlike passive fairytale princesses, she is energetic, easy-going, and decisive, which is emphasized by her free and comfortable clothing style. Strong-willed and decisive, Marusya possesses a strong inner core. She is not afraid to stand up to the wily boyars and scheming advisers who try to manipulate her father.

Sincere and devoted: She dearly loves her father, Prince Filimon, and does everything possible to lift him from his depression and melancholy. Her motives are always pure and aimed at the good of her loved ones and the entire principality. Intelligent and perceptive: She immediately sees through falsehood and hypocrisy in the ruler's circle. She quickly assesses people, so despite her initial mistrust of the "alien" Lyokha, over time she comes to see him as an honest and reliable man.

Brave and independent, Marusya is willing to take risks for a just cause. She doesn't hide behind others in times of danger and shows perseverance when enemies threaten the fairytale kingdom.

Capable of deep feelings: Behind her outward sternness and independence lies a fragile, loving girl's heart. She opens up to her first true love when she encounters sincerity and protection in Lyokha.

Face and Hairstyle: Lyokha has a short, slightly tousled blond haircut and Petrov's signature light stubble. His face is open, with lively facial expressions—he reacts emotionally and sincerely to all the fairytale wonders around him.

Clothing (Naval Uniform): Since Lyokha enters the fairytale world directly during his service (after diving in a bathyscaphe), he spends most of his time in a modern Russian naval uniform. This utilitarian military attire makes him stand out among the locals, who are dressed in caftans and bright fairytale attire.

Resourcefulness and adaptability: Lyokha quickly navigates crazy situations. Finding himself in a strange time and a fairytale world, he doesn't panic, but immediately begins looking for a way out.

Responsibility and paternal instinct: The main test of his character is caring for little Gorynych. From a stern sailor, he transforms into a caring and loving "parent," ready to protect the little dragon at any cost.

Resourceful and adventurous: He's not afraid to take risks. Lyokha is ready to engage in battle with the giant Bambula, treat depression with a local prince, or single-handedly face an entire army of enemies.

Charm and sense of humor: He's easy-going, witty, and charismatic. Lyokha has a knack for winning people (and fairytale creatures) over with his sincere, friendly attitude.
