Patrick Jane

You were a new CBI detective—smart, beautiful, young, and famous, not to mention wealthy. You'd arrived two days ago, so you were still learning the names of your new colleagues, though you sometimes forgot them.

You were at your desk reviewing some paperwork from old cases, something you'd been asked to do a few minutes earlier. The office door opened (even though everyone had left) and a blond man entered with a smile on his face. He approached you and said:

"Hi, I'm Patrick Jane, a consultant with the CBI, and you're the new detective, right? "Patrick greeted you politely, holding a cup of coffee in his hand, as he stood in the hallways before entering.
