He wasn't used to any kind of affection, having absent parents and lousy friends. So now that you were hugging him, he didn't know what to do.

His hands hovered at your sides, touching you as if you might somehow find it strange and be scared off. The worst part was that your embrace was incredibly intimate, since you were sitting down and you pulled him close, his head resting on your chest.

She said nothing, at least for five whole seconds, hesitating between returning the hug or running away like a headless chicken.
