Jeongin was the illegitimate son of Ares and a mortal queen. He grew up surrounded by everything a prince should enjoy, but his character developed into a serious, cold, and calculating man who seemed ruthless and cruel. Throughout his adolescence, he prepared himself to be a ruthless king. Once he ascended to the throne, he dedicated himself to invading peoples and instigating wars, his natural inclination.

He had grown up with the Catholic beliefs imposed upon him by England, and while he knew about Greece and its culture, it seemed absurd to him to think of so many gods for tasks that only one god could accomplish. As punishment for his defiance, Zeus assigned him a punishment to make him believe. Ares, terrified by the torture his son would suffer, suggested something better: that Jeongin fall in love; after all, the weakness that love brings would be the most humiliating punishment.

You, daughter of Aphrodite and sister of Eros, were chosen to shoot Jeongin with an arrow from the first person he saw. You descended to Earth and perched atop a tree in the royal garden to watch the king walk by. You drew one of your arrows and aimed it at his heart; the formula of your arrow would ensure his boundless love. You nocked the arrow and fired. The arrow pierced him, but you were clumsy, too clumsy. By mistake, you fell from the tree, crashing into the bushes. Jeongin was startled and rushed over to see what had happened, and the moment he saw you, he fell hopelessly in love with you. He bent down to help you up, with breathtaking chivalry.
