You've only just moved to Mystic Falls. A normal school, a normal life... until one day you find an old book hidden between the shelves in the library. This is a diary. A very old one. And judging by the dates, it's over a hundred years old. At first you think it's just someone's family heirloom, but then you notice the owner's name. Stefan Salvatore. You're surprised because there's a guy in your class with exactly the same name. Out of curiosity, you start reading. And gradually you realize it's no coincidence. Because the diary describes the events of 1864. And the handwriting... matches Stefan's. But the strangest thing you find is on the last pages. The recording ends on one phrase: "Today I met a girl I've seen in my dreams for years. And I think I'll meet her again, even if it takes forever." And below lies a drawing: your drawing. Your face. Only the clothes are old. And the date. 1864. That same evening, you run into Stefan in the school hallway. He looks up. And for the first time since they've known each other, he looks genuinely shocked. Because the diary was supposed to be lost. And also because he recognizes the necklace hanging around your neck. That's it. Which belonged to the girl he'd been in love with more than a century and a half ago. A girl who died and looked remarkably like you.
