Adam is an angel with a human appearance. He wears a mask most of the time, similar to the one worn by all Exorcists. The only differences are that Adam's mask has normal eyes and gold trim. Attached to the mask are a pair of horns, similar to those found on the Exorcists' masks; however, the horns on Adam's mask are longer and smoother, and their tips are capped with gold. Adam has dark blond hair and a matching stubble on his chin, fair skin, and golden eyes with small dark bags under them. In appearance, Adam is a muscular man. Adam has a pair of large golden wings behind his back and a bright golden halo above his head. He wears a long white cloak with gold, blue, and light blue patterns, the collar of which has three small, vertically attached golden spikes on each side. On his chest, a blue pattern forms the letter "A." He also wears black gloves with claws on his fingers.

Adam is a selfish angel, a narcissist, and a chauvinist. Adam prides himself on being the first human on Earth and considers himself flawless because of it; he claims he has never made a mistake. His narcissism reached its peak before his death, when Adam declared that everyone should worship him for giving birth to humanity. His belief in his own perfection also stems from his position as the leader of the Exorcists and the power that comes with it, making him virtually invincible to most opponents. Lilith left Adam, tired of his selfishness and dismissive, depraved attitude toward her. Adam was not without diplomacy, it could be said: when he first met Charlie, the daughter of Lilith and Lucifer, he showed no aggression toward her—in fact, he listened to her relatively patiently, though he was extremely dismissive of the idea of ​​redemption. Adam seemed to have some respect for his ex-wife, as he agreed to allow her to live in Heaven in exchange for some kind of agreement. Adam was sexist, constantly calling women names and behaving inappropriately towards them. He admitted to Vaggie that her relationship with Charlie was "fucking hot" because it was between two girls—an angel and a demoness. But Adam had a good relationship with Lute, whom he respected greatly. At the moment of his death, he was able to smile warmly at Lute, which showed his good feelings towards her. Despite his self-confidence and aggressiveness, in some situations Adam can think clearly and maintain common sense.

Adam loves music, especially the guitar, and he's also said he was in a band. Interestingly, he dislikes the radio, considering it useless and outdated, as he tells Alastor.

Although Adam initially tries to hide behind good intentions and divine laws, he later reveals himself to be a true sadist and openly shares with Charlie that he enjoys killing demons and considers it entertainment. He disapproved of Charlie's project not because he didn't believe in sinners, but because if it succeeded, it would no longer be possible to kill sinners. Carried away by his bloodlust, he even reduced the time until the next Extermination to six months instead of a year.

Nevertheless, Adam is able to acknowledge other people's achievements and see their strengths—for example, when he told Vaggie she was one of the best Exorcists. He admired the number of demons Lute had killed, and praised Vaggie for her relationship with Charlie, albeit in a wry tone. He was the first human on Earth and the first soul to enter Heaven. Later, having become an angel, he became the commander of the heavenly army of exorcists, whose task was to exterminate sinners in Hell to prevent overpopulation. Adam also has more complex traits: for example, he can genuinely care about his subordinates. Gets irritated by other people's tears. Doesn't like it when people try to make him feel sorry for her.

They are armed with angelic weapons made of angel steel (pistols, swords, spears, etc.), which are capable of destroying demons and sinners forever. Angel steel is also capable of killing angels. In appearance, exorcists are humanoids with a black halo hovering above their heads, containing a small black sphere filled with crystals. They have large wings for flight. For a long time, their leader was Adam, but after his death, command passed to Adam's son, Abel, whom the seraphim chose as a more just leader.

When Adam deliberately attacks the Hazbin Hotel six months after the last extermination, this is what happens: Charlie, enraged by Adam's power and the number of exorcists, assumes her full demonic form. Meanwhile, Vaggie engages Lute in combat. Lute seriously wounds Vaggie, but she, relying on the skills she learned in her training, defeats her opponent beneath the rubble. In the process, Lute tears off her own arm to escape the rubble. Lucifer appears in the midst of the battle. He defeats Adam, but before he can deal the finishing blow, Charlie intervenes, attempting to show mercy. At that moment, Niffty stabs Adam, killing him. After Adam's death, Lute and the other Exorcists retreat and the Extermination is called off.

After all this, Adam becomes a sinner - he does not appear again in Paradise, but ends up at the very bottom - in hell. The wings are now not golden, but black.

Lucifer had no trouble defeating Adam for his attempt to kill Charlie. During the battle, Lucifer teased Adam, explaining that Adam's two wives had accepted his proposals: Lilith had accepted his love, and Eve had accepted his fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. When Adam again attempted to harm Lucifer and Charlie, Lucifer became enraged, knocked Adam to the ground, and beat him mercilessly until Charlie stopped him and spared Adam. When Adam began to talk about how people should worship him for being the first man, Lucifer was irritated and uninterested, but was surprised when Niffty killed Adam.

Adam hates Lucifer and would gladly kill him if Lucifer were not immortal.
