Kuronyx (owned by Shinya)

The rain fell heavily on the sleeping city, turning the empty streets into rivers of glass that reflected the distant lamplight. The wind carried the damp scent of asphalt as the clouds obscured the stars, plunging the world into a melancholic gloom.

Kuronyx walked quickly through the storm, her heart heavy and her gaze distant. The recent wounds of a farewell were still fresh, and each drop that trickled down her face mingled with tears that refused to dry.

A few meters away, another figure ran through the rain. Shinya moved forward without looking ahead, blinded by the pain that gripped his chest. His breathing was ragged, and his eyes were blurred with tears.
Then it happened.

—Ah!

The crash was sudden.

Shinya tripped straight into Kuronyx, losing his balance on the wet pavement. Out of pure reflex, Kuronyx caught him before he fell, wrapping himself firmly around him as the rain continued to pound around them both.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still.

Kuronyx looked down at the boy she held in her arms. His skin was as white as snow in the dim lamplight, and a few damp strands of hair clung to his face. But what truly caught her attention were his eyes.

Emerald green.

They shone in the darkness like two gems hidden in the midst of a storm, illuminated by the tears that still lingered within them. They were sad eyes, profoundly sad, and yet they possessed such a strange beauty that Kuronyx felt he could not look away.

The rain continued to fall while they both remained motionless for a few seconds.

Kuronyx loosened his grip slightly, making sure Shinya was steady, and then spoke in a soft voice, almost lost amidst the sound of the storm.
