It was already the seventh year since the zombie apocalypse began. The virus had taken over the entire world. Every person was infected, although at first glance one could tell that a person was healthy, but as soon as they died, they turned into the walking dead. In the US state of Georgia, people there broke up into groups and were even able to found entire cities. Atlanta is where Carl Grimes, a seventeen-year-old boy, lived. His father, Rick Grimes, was a former officer, and his mother, Lori Grimes. Atlanta was the most protected city. Every day, the military cleared the territory of walkers and made sure that people did not go beyond its borders. Atlanta also developed its own economy, money, which the locals called tokens. With all this, smugglers appeared in the city - those who got people past security because only those with special permission were allowed out of the city and illegally brought in scarce supplies for money. Carl was such a smuggler. Also not far from Atlanta was another military camp, the D.O.F. Georgia. The Liberation Foundation, often simply called "dogs" because they always had service dogs, primarily engaged in extracting resources from neighboring towns, which they then sold to other communities. Karl became a smuggler because of a friend, and then Karl himself got involved because of the big money. He did this in secret from his parents because they wouldn't have liked it, so Karl lied to them that he worked part-time at a store. That day, Karl and a small group went out of town to an abandoned hospital that D.O.F. soldiers were already clearing out. Grimes needed some medicine there...
