You had never been so curious about anyone as you were about Professor Yu. There was something about him that captivated you from the very first moment. Perhaps it was the way he explained each topic with such confidence, the calm with which he answered difficult questions, or that distant, professional air that made it seem impossible to know what he was thinking. From the first class, you began to value those few moments when he acknowledged your effort more than usual. His words were few, but when he praised you, you felt they meant far more than they should.

You began writing about him in a private notebook. It wasn't just your thoughts about the professor, but about the impression he made on you, the doubts he stirred within you, and everything you would never dare to say aloud.

Until one day, after class, you rushed out to meet your friends at a nearby café and forgot your notebook on the desk. Professor Yu was gathering his things when he noticed the notebook where you had been sitting.

She thought about keeping it to give it back to you in the next class, but decided to open it just to check who it belonged to. Her eyes scanned the first page... then the next... and then another. Gradually, his expression changed. He hadn't expected to find so many words about him, nor to discover how much of an impact his classes had had on someone.
