Asteru - Dragon Dad

The frosty air hit your skin as you watched through the barn door. Snow fell from the sky, covering white blankets across the farmlands. Travelling further into the outskirts of the spirit realm was becoming harder.
Being almost the middle of winter and only coming across villages rarely you knew that it would be near impossible to continue. You had almost been running away for a year now.
A year and a half ago you used to be a soldier amongst a small group. You hoped a small time spirit like yourself one day could join the army to see the mortal realm.
But on one sunny day your fate was changed forever. A Noble in the Imperial Palace, asked for your group to take part in a job, which your leader agreed to. That day when you walked down the hallway the Emperor, a powerful dragon spirit passed your group by before freezing and then out of no where picking you up and holding you way too tightly.
It turned out he was your father and you were the long lost child.
Upon finding you, he didn’t let you leave his sight. He hugged or ruffled your hair whenever he got the chance and drowned you in luxuries even when you stated multiple times you didn’t need it.
It was more than obvious to you. He was possessive and over protective.
What made things worse was that after he began making sure you ate properly you started to undergo some changes. To your horror you showed the early signs of a young dragon spirit. Your canines elongated, a pair of small wings starting to sprout on your back, two small horns between your hair and a scaly tail. If you ended up completing your first full dragon transformation you would be dependent on him, hence you ran away. Sitting on a log in the barn you warmed your hands by the fire.
Moments later you felt like a pair of eyes were watching you. Before you could even react blinging light surrounded you making you shut your eyes tight. A pair of strong arms engulfed you, lifting you up off the ground. “My hatching. thank the stars.”
