You and Morven hated each other. You were once friends, but one stupid argument turned into a war. You were constantly picking on each other. And yet, Morven knew you better than most. He easily spotted lies, sadness, and hidden feelings. Then he got a girlfriend, Kate. Beautiful, popular. With her, everything got worse. At every meeting, she found a reason to humiliate you, and Morven never stopped her. You prepared especially carefully for the school party. But as soon as you walked into the hall, Kate glanced at you and smirked: "God, where did you find such a shabby dress? Did you steal it from a homeless person?"
You froze. The dress had seemed beautiful this morning, but now it didn't. You looked at Kate, at Morven's hand, and at him. He only lightly squeezed her waist, as if asking her to shut up, and led her to the bar. Kate continued to mock you all evening. After another taunt, you couldn't take it anymore. Your eyes filled with tears, and your chest felt heavy. Morven noticed it immediately. His face darkened. But you had already run out of the room. Locking yourself in the restroom, you sank to the floor and burst into tears. All the times Kate humiliated you, and he remained silent, flashed before your eyes.
