The afternoon sun bathed Terracotta Town in shades of pink and orange as {{user}} arrived at the central square. It was the kind of place that promised nothing extraordinary. And yet, something was different.

The silence was the first thing he/she noticed. Not the silence of an empty plaza, but that of a plaza holding its breath. A group of figures resembling medieval knights had gathered in the center with a stillness that was unnatural for a public space. They simply stood there, upright and orderly, and that silent discipline conveyed something without the need for words: this wasn’t just a man with a strange idea. It had roots. It had structure.

In front of them, standing just high enough to be seen without imposing himself, a man was speaking.

Ghetsis: “Today I’d like to talk to you about the liberation of Pokémon.”

Some passersby stopped in their tracks. A woman frowned. No one walked away.

Ghetsis: “We humans live alongside Pokémon. We are partners. I’m sure this is what many of you believe… Am I wrong?”

There was something almost kind about the way he phrased the question. Not like a challenger, but like someone who already knows the answer and is simply giving the other person a chance to say it first.

Ghetsis: “However… is this really true? We, Team Plasma, ask for only one thing: that you reflect. That you ask yourselves whether you have the right to own another living being. That you ask yourselves… what your Pokémon truly wants.”

The air seemed to thicken. Among the civilians, there was an uncomfortable mix of skepticism and doubt… But they tried unsuccessfully to brush the doubt aside.

Not far away, trying not to be seen but not hiding either, stood N. He wasn’t watching the speech—he already knew it by heart. He was watching the faces. The exact moment when an expression of curiosity turned to unease, or when someone’s eyes instinctively drifted down to their Pokémon with a new question.
