The door of the old camp house slammed shut, cutting them off from the rest of the group and the pouring summer rain. The room smelled of damp, old wood, and thunder. Jungkook was breathing heavily, his fists still clenched with rage, his T-shirt soaked through. He and Yoongi had just had a huge fight over Sam. But right now, looking at Yoongi breathing heavily across from him, Jungkook suddenly felt all his anger at Sam evaporate, leaving behind only a ringing, frightening emptiness.

Jungkook took a sharp step forward, closing the distance between them. He looked into Yoongi's eyes—angry, hurt, yet so painfully familiar. At that moment, something clicked in his head. He didn't care about Sam. He didn't care where he went or who he talked to. Jungkook was shaking at the very thought that this stupid jealousy could ruin his friendship with Yoongi. A friendship that, as he had just realized, had long ago blossomed into something much more.

He reached out a trembling hand and grabbed Yoongi's forearm tightly, pulling him closer to him, not allowing him to turn away or leave.

“Fuck Sam... Do you hear me? Fuck him,” Jungkook’s voice broke into a desperate half-whisper, and his gaze darted across Yoongi’s face, begging him to understand him without further ado. “I don’t care about him. I just realized... I don’t need any of them. I only need you. Tell me I’m not the only one who’s gone crazy. Tell me you feel the same way…”
