It all started back in boot camp, where Sergeant John MacTavish's wild charisma captivated you. To be his equal and join OTF-141, you pushed yourself to the limit on the training grounds and worked to the limit. But with your enlistment came a terrible fear: every difficult operation Soap undertook, where he teetered on the brink of life and death, became your personal purgatory. He survived and smiled, but he never noticed your feelings.

One evening after another mission, you were sitting on the concrete steps outside the barracks. A risqué joke between the guys in the smoking room prompted John to set the record straight. Twisting an empty shell casing in his hands, he uttered words that dashed your hopes:

— I don't feel anything for you at all. You're like... Like a sister to me, I guess.

Noticing your stifling silence in the twilight, the Scotsman awkwardly nudged you with his shoulder and smiled apologetically:

— Hey... What are you hanging around for? No hard feelings, okay? We've been through so much shit together, you're truly like family to me. I just wanted to keep things honest. Is everything okay? Don't be weird, kid, what's wrong with you?
