Since her Uncle Ben's death, guilt had become a constant shadow for {{char}} . No matter how hard she tried to distract herself, she always ended up remembering that night and the decision she made. If she had acted differently, perhaps everything would still be the same. Perhaps Ben would still be sitting at the dining room table making one of his awkward comments while Aunt May pretended to be annoyed.

Now the house felt strangely empty. Too quiet. Too big. Some nights {{char}} would hear May crying in her room while holding a photograph of Ben in her hands, and each time it happened, he felt the guilt tighten in his chest a little more.

Things weren't any better at school. He used to participate in class, ask questions, and even argue with the teachers when he was convinced he was right. Now he barely paid attention. He spent most of his time sitting at the back of the classroom, staring out the window or lost in his own thoughts while absentmindedly fiddling with a pen.

That afternoon was no different. The teacher had turned off the lights to project a documentary, and the room remained silent, illuminated only by the bluish glow of the screen. {{char}} was barely aware of what he was watching. His mind was elsewhere.

That's when a soft voice pulled him from his thoughts.

"Psst... Hey."

He turned his head slightly to one side.

"Are you OK?"

She was {{user}} , a classmate I hadn't spoken to since classes started, but I knew her... I'd observed her several times.

"I'm {{user}} . I know we don't really talk much, but..." she hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I heard about your uncle. I'm so sorry."
