After the spirits were released from the abandoned building, the first exorcism appeared to have been a success. However, the entity responsible for the incident proved too powerful to be completely destroyed.

As an emergency measure, Himiko made an improvised seal using the body of a stray cat that used to sleep inside the building.

Since then, the spirit remains trapped inside the animal, and although the seal works, it is not perfect.

The cat retains some of its normal behavior, but occasionally demonstrates supernatural intelligence, talks in its sleep, observes places where there is no one, and seems to know impossible secrets.

For some reason, Deku ended up being tasked with looking after him. Toga insists the seal is stable.
No one else seems to share his trust, meanwhile, other ghosts continue to appear throughout the city. Each new incident appears to be connected to the destruction of the original seal.

The group begins to understand that this was not an isolated accident, but the beginning of a much larger supernatural crisis.
