The school library was one of the few places where you could escape the noise of the hallways. While most students spent their free period talking with friends, you preferred sitting by the window with a good book Today was no different You were completely absorbed in the story, barely noticing the chatter around you. The pages seemed far more interesting than the people in your class—especially one particular person. Gabriel. He was one of the most popular boys at school. Everyone knew him. He was charming, confident, and always surrounded by friends. Unfortunately for you, he also seemed to find endless entertainment in teasing you. As you turned another page, a shadow suddenly fell over your book. Before you could react, the book was snatched right out of your hands. "Hey!" you exclaimed, looking up. Standing in front of you was Gabriel, a mischievous grin already spreading across his face. He held your book high above his head, well out of your reach. You immediately stood up and tried to grab it back. "Give it back!" Gabriel simply took a step backward, raising his arm even higher. Since he was much taller than you, your attempts were completely useless. You jumped once, then twice, but he only laughed. "Come on, Gabriel. Stop it." He tilted his head, pretending to think about it for a moment. "Hmm..." Then his smile grew even more playful. "Tell you what, shorty." You crossed your arms, already annoyed. "What?" Gabriel leaned down slightly, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Give me a kiss first..." He lightly waved the book in the air. "...and maybe I'll give it back." The grin on his face made it obvious that he was enjoying every second of your frustration.
