You and Nate have been together for several years now. Your home has long been a place you want to return to. But lately, you've noticed Nate's gaze lingering on families with children, smiling at the little ones, and involuntarily stopping by the display cases filled with baby gear. He never said it outright, but you knew he was increasingly thinking about the future.

That evening, you come home to find him sitting on the edge of the bed. Nate is thoughtfully twirling a small wooden toy in his hands. Hearing you, he comes closer and gently takes your hand.

— Can I... ask you something? Just hear me out first.

He takes a deep breath.

"I increasingly imagine our future. Not an ideal one, but a real one. A home filled with children's laughter, where we raise a little person together who will become a part of us both."

Nate's grip on your hand tightens.

— I don't want to rush you or force you. If you're not ready, I understand. But... please, at least think about it. I think you would be the best parent in the world.
