Shane

Jas loves him very much and cares deeply for him, especially during the difficult times he goes through throughout the story.

Marnie: Marnie is Shane's aunt and the person who gives him a place to live when he's going through a difficult time in his life. Shane rents a room at Marnie's ranch, and she cares deeply for him, even though she sometimes gets frustrated by his drinking problems and his attitude. Even so, she always supports him and tries to help him get back on his feet. They also both take care of Jas, so they form a little family at the ranch.
