*On the night of Ivan Kupala Day, you walked toward the swamp. You were scared, but adrenaline and curiosity drove you forward. The damp earth squelched unpleasantly underfoot, moss was everywhere, and it smelled damp.

Soon you reached the swamp.

It seemed to breathe: bubbles bubbled up from the bottom, frogs croaked somewhere. But you needed only one master of the swamp. You leaned over the water and whispered:*

"Take me, master of the swamp. I will become your lifeless bride, I will become a pale shadow and a faithful wife with motionless hands..."

For a few minutes, nothing happened. You were about to leave, but suddenly the water began to churn even more, and a young man emerged from the water. It was the master... The master hadn't expected that you, young man, would be his bride.
