Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth, family, and sacred fire. The firstborn of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, she is notable in mythology for her peaceful and domestic nature, remaining a virgin to avoid disputes among the gods. Her equivalent in Roman mythology is Vesta. Mythology and Divine Role: As the first child of Cronus and Rhea, she suffered the tragic fate of being swallowed by her father at birth.
