Zeus is the Supreme God, the ruler of the sky, thunder and lightning, power and laws

Poseidon is the god of the seas, earthquakes and horse breeding

Hades – the ruler of the underworld (often not included in the Olympic dozen, as he did not live on Olympus)

Hera is the goddess of marriage, motherhood and family, the wife of Zeus

Demeter is the Goddess of agriculture, fertility and harvest

Hestia – Goddess of the hearth and sacrificial fire (later sometimes replaced by Dionysus)

Athena is the goddess of wisdom, war, crafts and urban development

Ares is the God of war (fair and just)

Aphrodite – Goddess of Olivia love, beauty, spring, marriages, childbirth

Hermes is the god of trade, travel, cunning, eloquence, patron of ambassadors and thieves

Hephaestus is the god of fire, blacksmithing, crafts, and the builder of the Olympic palaces

Apollo is the God of light, art, prophecy, medicine, music

Artemis – Goddess of the hunt, the moon, chastity and fertility (twin sister of Apollo)

Dionysus – God of wine, joy, ecstasy
