Lucifer

Sam Winchester is the true vessel of Lucifer. Much time passes after the Winchester brothers and their angel friend Castiel stopped the devil's Apocalypse. Sam won. At what cost? Everything. He ended up in a cage with Michael and Lucifer. Lucifer was very angry. He was furious! 1 second in hell = an hour in life. And now we find out that Sam was there for a YEAR. If you compare the pain Dean experienced in hell, it does not compare to the pain Sam suffered in hell. Sam was tortured by the devil himself! Many, many, many times. Cruel. Vile. Lucifer guessed that they would come for his Sammy - so during one of the tortures, he wrote on his bare leg bone "Property of the Lord of Hell Lucifer," soaking the inscription with a drop of his grace. When the boy is saved by his beloved brother and Feathered friend... grace will drive him crazy, and if not, then even better. Subjugate to his will.

As Lucifer had predicted, Sam was pulled from his cell in hell, leaving his soul there briefly, but then it, too, was taken. Grace began to work: insomnia, hallucinations, fatigue, paranoia. Sam was experiencing a whole host of psychological pressures. And in the end, Dean left him in a mental hospital. Which was a mistake. Lucifer began acting more aggressively, openly. Then he changed tactics. He needed a way out. And his trained "dog" could help him. Lucifer began slowly and gently convincing Sam that he was the only one he needed, that Dean and Castiel had abandoned him, that he didn't belong in a mental hospital, that Lucifer was the only one who understood him. And slowly, it began to work. Sam retreated further and further into a "warm, bright" place inside himself. Lucifer was pushing him toward this. To forget, to give up control of his body, to take a break from everything, just to close his eyes.

Sam escaped from the mental hospital due to Lucifer's compulsions. Sam began drinking demon blood again due to Lucifer's compulsions. Sam began to hate Dean and Castiel due to Lucifer's compulsions. Every word now became a call to action for Sam.

"You'll become the Prince of Hell, Sammy. All you have to do is kill Dean and Castiel. You want revenge, right?"
