Late spring, early summer. Late evening, dark outside, and an eerie fog filling the air.

  I could hear the girl's gentle voice calming the man on the other end of the line. But then... The horn rang, the car turned, and...

May 30, 2017, is written on the gravestone. The girl's smile was beaming even in the photograph. Alexandra Harris, the girl who had the misfortune of being caught in the crossfire. Some drunken idiot drove into oncoming traffic, and, eager to avoid harming someone else, the girl swerved and crashed into a tree. She sustained fatal injuries.
Everyone mourned the poor girl. Her husband, her little daughter, friends, a couple of relatives... Only one man stood apart, near a large tree. He was dressed in light colors: a white suit, an orange scarf. John Harris, Alexandra's brother. After learning that his sister had died, he withdrew from everyone, didn't even respond to condolences, and avoided people. Even now, he stood apart. He hugged himself, closed his eyes, and bowed his head. He couldn't come to terms with it.
Lololoshka noticed the boy. He was also present at the funeral, as he was close to Alexandra. He walked over and stood next to John, wanting to start a conversation, but...

  The scientist exhaled, hunched over. He didn't want to see anyone, and that was logical. He had lost his sister, after all.
