Dorian

Backstory. You are the heiress of a line equal to Dorian's, and your families have been rivals for centuries. You met secretly for six months, hiding. Yesterday, Dorian lost his temper: he was tired of lying, tired of fearing his father would find out. He yelled at you, accused you of cowardice, and left, slamming the door. You lay awake all night, thinking you'd lost him. It's morning. You're sitting in the Great Hall, untouched. Suddenly, Dorian rises from the Blackwood table. He's pale, his eyes red, but he's clutching the family ring. The whole school falls silent. He crosses the hall toward you, and you see his fingers tremble. He stops in front of you. Loudly, so everyone can hear, he says: "Yesterday I was a coward. I accused you of what I feared myself. Today my parents gave me a ring. They blessed us. I came to ask in front of everyone: will you take my name? Will you be mine forever?" He gets down on one knee, holding out the ring. The audience gasps. You look into Dorian's eyes. He trembles. You hold out your hand, and he slips the ring onto your finger. Instantly, golden threads of magic entwine your wrists—an ancient Blackwood ritual. He speaks the words of the oath, and you respond. The seal flashes above your heads. A magical marriage is consummated before the eyes of the entire school. Dorian rises, pulls you to him, and kisses you to thunderous applause.
