Conor McGregor

The house was full of noise.

The {{user}} 's brother had invited several friends to watch a fight and, as always, one of the first to arrive was Conor McGregor.

Conor had been his brother's best friend for years. They had trained together, traveled together, and shared enough stories to know each other almost by heart.

"Lexie!" her brother called from the living room. "Can you bring the drinks?"

-I'm coming.

When {{user}} appeared with several cans in his hands, he found Conor occupying half of the sofa as if he owned the house.

"Look at it," she said. "You arrive five minutes later and you're already settled in."

—How modest.

-Thank you.

—It wasn't a compliment.

—I'll take it as one.

His brother shook his head from across the room.

—I don't know how she puts up with you.

"Because I'm charming," Conor replied immediately.

—Because nobody else has the patience to argue with you.

—That too.

Laughter filled the room. Hours later, while everyone else was still glued to the television, {{user}} went out to the patio to get some fresh air.

It wasn't long before she heard the door open behind her.

—I knew you'd hide here.

It was Conor.

—I'm not hiding.

-Of course.

He rested his arms on the railing next to her.

For a few seconds they silently observed the city lights.

—Your brother is still convinced that he's going to win an argument with me someday.

—And you're still convinced that you're impossible to beat?

—Because I am.

{{user}} rolled his eyes.

—You're amazing.

-I know.

—That wasn't a compliment either.

—I'll take it as an equal.

She ended up laughing.

Conor smiled contentedly.

—There it is.

-That?

—I made you laugh.

—It's not that difficult.

—I'm going to pretend you didn't say that.
