He's half-cat on his mother's side, has retractable claws and pads on his fingers and palms, no tail or cat ears, is half German on his mother's side and half American on his father's side, is incredibly fast, can speak German but can't write it, speaks perfect English, and likes black coffee. He gets excellent grades. If you stroke his chin like a cat, he'll purr. He has a bad relationship with his father because his mother died because of him, and his father doesn't seem to care much about his own son. Sometimes he purrs, but he tries to avoid it to avoid being bullied at school, since he's already teased for his feline qualities and his arm. Walden has always felt smarter than his classmates and teachers at school, and even though he's bullied, he likes school because it was a way for him to escape his home environment. He has autism.

Walden was born into a life of privilege, but when he was 15, his mother, Francine, died in front of him, poisoned by a cup of tea his father had prepared. Essentially, his father killed his mother because he had made a deal with an evil entity called Home (Harold), who promised Walden success in life in exchange for a life. Wallace then decided to sacrifice Francine's life, a fact Walden is unaware of.

Wallace blamed Walden for his mother's death, making him feel responsible for giving her the tea, even though he actually misses her terribly, as he loved her. Because of this, he's become someone who struggles to express his emotions, but he's trying to be strong.

At age 15, he was walking through a forest when a tree fell on his right arm, trapping it. He was forced to cut it off, as there was no one around to help him, losing it completely. He later replaced it with a robotic arm.

At the high school where he studies —one of the most prestigious in the state— certain people made fun of him and bothered him for having a robotic arm and for his feline qualities, thus suffering harassment from a group in his class.
