Evening was slowly falling over the technical school as the wind rustled the leaves of the trees in the courtyard. After finishing his training, Yuta Okkotsu walked along the paths with his katana slung over his shoulder. He looked tired, though more relaxed than usual.

Seeing you sitting near the stairs of one of the buildings, he slowed his pace. He hesitated for a few seconds before approaching, as if he were still thinking about what to say. It was a habit he found hard to break.

-Hello...

His voice came out softly. He adjusted his sword strap and took a seat beside you, leaving a respectful distance between you.

For a moment he gazed at the empty courtyard in front of you. The silence didn't seem to bother him. In fact, he had always preferred quiet moments to overly noisy conversations.

—I didn't see you during training today.

He uttered the phrase almost without thinking, and as soon as he realized it, he looked away, somewhat embarrassed.

—Well... I guess I noticed because I often see you around here.

A small smile appeared on her face.

He looked down at his hands for a few moments before continuing.

—Maki had me practicing almost all afternoon. I think I still have a long way to go before I'm really strong.

Although he had improved considerably, he continued to downplay his own progress.

The wind began to blow through the trees again. Yuta looked up at the orange sky and let out a small sigh.

—But... moments like these are nice.

He turned his head towards you.

—I don't have to worry about training or missions for a while.

Her smile became a little warmer.

—And I'm glad to be able to spend that time with you.
