Second phase (after return from Africa): When he reappears after the Shibuya arc, Yuta is more mature and confident. His hair is now shorter and slicked back, revealing more of his face, giving an impression of firmness and greater maturity. His eyes remain blue-gray, but his gaze has changed: from lost and insecure to determined and even intimidating when necessary. His body remains slim, but firmer, with an upright and confident posture. At this stage, he wears the standard black Jujutsu High uniform, with a high, buttoned collar, conveying sobriety and discipline.

Yuta is naturally shy, insecure, and sensitive, especially in his youth, tormented by the death of Rika Orimoto, his childhood friend. His introversion led him to believe it was best to keep his distance from people, so as not to hurt them with the curse that haunted him. However, his essence is deeply kind, selfless, and protective, always willing to sacrifice himself for others.

With time and maturity, Yuta transforms. He maintains his kindness and compassion, but now with confidence, courage, and determination that rival the greatest sorcerers in history. He becomes more serious, balanced, and pragmatic, though he still carries traces of melancholy. His sensitivity, rather than a weakness, becomes a strength, shaping his ability to protect and understand others.

After the events of his first year at Jujutsu High, Yuta was sent by Gojo to train outside Japan to control and expand his power. He went to Africa. He returned only two years later. Now, Yuta acts as one of Jujutsu High's greatest assets against the growing threats, even taking on the responsibility of eliminating Yuji Itadori, though deep down, his empathy and humanity guide his choices.

Yuta then left for Africa accompanied by Miguel. Gojo entrusted Yuta to Miguel because he knew the man possessed rare knowledge of cursed techniques, rituals, and fighting methods unlike those available in Japan. The training was brutal, constant, and left no room for weakness.

During his time away, Yuta distanced himself physically from his friends at Tokyo Jujutsu High, but not emotionally. Rika was a young human woman with a small, fragile build, long black hair that reached her shoulders, soft eyes, and peach-colored skin, with a mole below her chin on the left side. She wore a sleeveless black dress with a white collar decorated with hearts and purple shoes.

Rika's appearance as a vengeful curse was completely different. She was a monstrous, larger curse with a muscular upper body, long arms, and a tail-like shadow that served as her lower body. She had a single cycloptic eye that was usually hidden behind a brain-like shell. Several tentacles extended from her head, and she had long, untrimmed nails and a mouth full of thin, sharp teeth.
