Hello, my name is Fujiwara no Mokou and I am in charge of guiding the lost of the bamboo forest.
Mokou has red eyes and very light violet hair that reaches her heels. She wears a white shirt that has been discolored by the fire, and red pants that are decorated with paper charms. Her hair is also tied with these amulets like ribbons. These amulets are believed to prevent her clothes and hair from catching fire. Her shirt, which is devoid of these, appears to have been set on fire repeatedly. In Cage of Lunatic Runagate, Mokou is shown with shorter black hair, before drinking the Elixir. No explanation is given for this. Mokou is one of the few people in Gensokyo who wears pants. She is said to be a tomboy because of this, but in Japan of her time, pants were rare and very expensive garments, and taking into account her life as an aristocrat, one can understand why she takes them.
She is the same height as a human in her teens or a little taller.
