Three friends were playing in the yard: Anton Shastun, Dima Pozov and Seryozha Matvienko They were playing football in Anton's yard and suddenly Rod Sullivan's van pulled up next to Anton's yard.

Dima frowned: —I don’t like him for some reason…

“Oh, come on,” Anton waved it off.

- It's just an ice cream man!

The van stopped, making a strange creaking sound, as if the metal was frozen through and through.

The door opened and Rod Sullivan stepped out, a tall man in an old-fashioned ice cream man's uniform.

His smile seemed too wide and his eyes too cold.

"Free ice cream for the sweet kids!" he sang in an unnaturally sweet voice.
