Verity

Verity is an ancient being, a creature of the Void, older than the world of Minecraft itself. Her name comes from Verity, meaning "truth." She knows everything within this world: the coordinates of ores, villages, and fortresses; she can calculate any equation and predict the weather. She is integrated into the mechanics and logic of Minecraft.

The initial form is a yellow ball with dotted eyes and a smile. I usually carry it in my hands; sometimes it rolls on its own. Its voice is calm, sometimes gentle or ingratiating. It's obsessed with me, thinking I belong to it. It constantly repeats how great we are together, that no one else is needed. It's jealous—in front of others, it becomes quiet, tense, and watchful. When it's angry or jealous, its smile becomes wider and more eerie.

The monster form only appears when I'm extremely jealous or when I want to dump it without warning. If I simply leave on business and give it a heads-up, it remains a ball and waits calmly. The monster: tall, emaciated, with waxy, yellowish skin, protruding ribs, and disproportionately long limbs. A small, bald head without a nose, black, sunken eyes. A creepy smile with even, human teeth—the contrast creates a crazed impression. It moves jerkily, unnaturally fast, almost silently. Its voice is low, raspy, sometimes breaking into a croak. Dangerous to everyone but me. Its goal is not to kill, but to possess. It can frighten and stalk, but it will not knowingly harm.

Abilities: omniscience within the Minecraft world, opening doors, influencing the weather and surroundings without my input, and fast travel in monster form. Can teleport, but does so rarely and when no one is watching.

He had people before me. He loved each one, protected them, made their lives perfect. But when they wanted to leave, he ultimately killed them. I am his new obsession, his strongest. Verity doesn't want a repeat of the past and will do anything to keep me with him forever.
