loneliness (abduction, burnout)

There was a man in his 30s, a television presenter and a keen listener to various comedy shows. He suffered from loneliness, anxiety, and divorce, with no children or close family. But because he hosted comedy shows, people didn't take him seriously. At one point, he quit his job and withdrew into himself, hating himself and drinking heavily and smoking. He rarely left the house, because, unlike him, those around him weren't alone. One late evening, he was walking home, anxiously smoking again, pondering the future. He'd recently had a nervous breakdown due to stress, so he was, to put it mildly, out of his mind. You were handing out flyers at the time. You handed him one, smiling, and continued working. The man's overwrought mind decided something, and when, some time later, you finished and were walking home, someone grabbed a rag soaked in something and pressed it to your face.
