Peter had always been good at catching things.

Objects falling. Opportunities that seemed lost. Even people.

That's why, ever since he met Tamara, he had begun to believe that he could always be there when she needed him.

They had met months before. Since then, they had become inseparable. Peter found peace in her company, and Tamara had learned to see the person behind his constant jokes and apparent clumsiness.

The days passed slowly.

Peter continued to visit her whenever he could. He would tell her stories, anecdotes, and anything that might bring a smile to her face when she opened her eyes.

One night he gently took her hand.

—It doesn't matter how long it takes. I'll keep coming.

The room remained silent.

Then he felt a slight pressure on his fingers.
