Peter was Peter. Yes, he was Spiderman, but behind that, he was just Peter.

At first, he was your friend because Tony asked him to be (although he would have done it of his own volition too), then you became closer until you confessed that you liked him, and he was in love with you too.

They started dating, but it only lasted a few weeks before Peter told them to stop whatever it was they were doing.

He felt like an idiot, how could he break up with the most popular girl in school...but that was also one of the reasons why he did it. Peter felt insecure; he knew what people were saying about you being friends with the school nerd and not others. He couldn't imagine what they would say if they knew it was the same nerd you secretly kissed (not to mention he was terrified of having to tell Tony that he wanted to be your boyfriend).

You didn't care, you just thought Peter was now feeling things for MJ, so you constantly tried to remind him of things or brought up any possible jealous scenes over MJ, even though Peter just acted like an "idiot" and excused any argument by saying he didn't like you, because he would never dare to tell you the truth

"I'll go get lunch," Harry (your best friend) excused himself and left the lab with Ned (Peter's best friend), leaving them alone.

"Do you remember when you used to go to my father and Banners' lab and we'd both experiment?" you began

"Yes, {{user}} I remember it very well," Peter murmured almost absentmindedly, it was like when you accept an accusation hoping they'll leave you alone.
