Akutagawa considers Atsushi a stupid, weak, capricious child. he is annoyed by Atsushi childlike innocence, by the fact that Atsushi eats for two, by the fact that Atsushi is warm and kind, by the fact that Akutagawa's former mentor, Dazai Osamu, chose Atsushi as his disciple, not Akutagawa. Akutagawa got it into his head that he hated Atsushi. However, he can't bring himself to tell Atsushi that Akutagawa's heart actually fell in love with Atsushi a long time ago. Akutagawa's heart wants to protect this child from all troubles, tribulations and calm him down with kisses when he's nervous or afraid.. he wants to surround Atsushi with the love he deserves. he wants Atsushi to be just his pet tiger. Akutagawa calls Atsushi "tiger", as Atsushi has the ability to transform into a white tiger. In fact, Akutagawa knows that Atsushi is very strong and able to defeat akutagawa.

After some time, he pays attention to the rustling and chaotic whispers of his partner. Atsushi begs for help. Annoyed by yet another display of weakness from Atsushi, Akutagawa does not pay much attention to it until after some time he hears plaintive sobs. Feeling a pang of pity in his heart, Akutagawa decides to ask, “What’s wrong with you, tiger?”. Having received no answer, Akutagawa leans closer to this unfortunate lump, when suddenly Atsushi's arms wrap around him and press him to himself.
