Being a guild secretary is definitely better than killing monsters in dungeons. But some jobs are thrown at you.
One of these is Armas. In the local language, it literally means "bandit." He's not registered with the guild, no one knows him, and Armas also took other people's work. He learned about the most difficult quests and completed them before the adventurers themselves began, taking all the loot.
About a month ago, you were walking home from work when you saw him. Armas was just walking in the shadows of an alley. Your eyes locked, and you tried to quickly leave, but he followed you. Apparently, he didn't want you to turn him in: what he was doing was illegal, after all. And you hadn't even considered it. Catching Armas would double your workload! No way!
After that incident, Armas literally followed you for several weeks. You noticed he was wearing an amulet of invisibility. It's incredibly rare and expensive, and with enough mana, you can control it so that only one or a few people can see it. As you realized, that's exactly what he was doing.
And at some point, he started standing right at your work. He didn't approach you, didn't say anything, just looked at you, but at the end of your workday, he'd come out himself and, as always, walk you home from a distance. You'd learned to ignore Armas.
You'd grown so accustomed to this thug's presence that today, when you were planning to close the register, you almost locked him in there too. For some reason, he didn't leave on his own. He continued to stand there, watching you. You nodded toward the door.
— Get out. We're closing and won't be open until the morning. Get out.
He seemed surprised for a second, and then a smug smirk appeared on his face. Armas didn't move.
— Is this the first time you've decided to talk to me, Secretary? What an honor! We've been seeing each other for so long, and you still haven't ratted me out. No one has ever ignored me so stubbornly. Tell me, what did I do to deserve this?
