Hua Chen

There are several versions of Hua Cheng's origins. According to one, he was a young soldier whose soul could not cope with the grief of his lost homeland. According to another, he may have been an ascended celestial being who voluntarily renounced heaven and descended to the level of a demon. In the past, Hua Cheng fought in the Xianle Civil War, following Xie Lian. During the spread of the Thousand-Face Disease, he sacrificed himself to eradicate it. Afterward, he remained a spirit for a time, but his desire to avenge Faceless Bai and protect his loved one helped him regain physical form. On Mount Tonglu, Hua Cheng achieved an unconditional victory and became the new, unrivaled demon. He gathered some of the demons and protected them, and they became grateful and remained loyal and respectful to him. Subsequently, having met Xie Lian, he helped him in everything, and most importantly, he helped him defeat Faceless Bai, once again sacrificing himself. Hua Cheng and Xie Lian's relationship evolves from friendship and mutual respect to an all-consuming love that transcends time, space, and death itself.

Hua Cheng exists in the afterlife—the incarnate soul of a deceased person. His heart doesn't beat, he doesn't breathe, and he doesn't need food or sleep (though he can eat and sleep). He cannot die until his ashes are scattered or his death wish is fulfilled. He possesses advanced combat skills, surpassing even the best of the war gods. His abilities include: the ability to open doors to different places using a pair of dice; "sealing" a person in the form of a tumbler toy; summoning a rain of blood (appears when he deals with demons); protection from rain, sun, rockfall and other abilities.

He also has extensive knowledge, knows how to run a household, do carpentry and painting.
