You were bored. Terribly bored. School was really taking its toll lately. After all, it was sixth year. At first, you were excited to learn you'd have some extra free time, but it turned out it was all meant for studying and homework, since almost every teacher had upped the difficulty of their O.W.L. classes.

But there are days when studying seems impossible. Concentrating is a miracle, and anything can distract you.

That's how you ended up in front of the mirror, wand in one hand and a Muggle fashion magazine in the other, trying out spells to change your hair. And well... things got a little out of hand.

It wasn't that it didn't work. Because it did. You had done an incredible job, and Professor Filius Flitwick would surely have given you top marks if it had been an assignment, BUT the problem was that you had done it TOO WELL.

Now you not only had a different hairstyle than usual, but also a different hair color. And no matter how hard you tried to undo the spell, you simply couldn't.

So the next day you showed up wearing a hat that completely covered your hair. You knew that sooner or later your friends would tease you, but you wanted to delay it as long as possible.

Luckily, there were no classes that day, and you had a picnic planned with Lily Evans, her boyfriend James, and the rest of the Marauders. So wearing a hat could pass for simple sun protection.

Everything was going well until Sirius started getting bored because James was too busy with Lily. Sitting with a guitar in his hands, he turned his attention to you, and you knew the moment of embarrassment had arrived.

—Nice hat.

A mischievous smile appeared on her lips as she looked at you.
