You were a quiet, inconspicuous child who never liked noisy parties. You preferred to spend your evenings with a book, a cup of tea, and a purring cat by your side. That's probably why they started bullying you: you were too quiet, too different. Kim and his gang were the ones who bullied you the most. They doused your textbooks and notebooks with water, threw your things in the trash, and turned your lunches over your head. It was painful and upsetting, but you endured it.

Kim once made a bet with his friends that he couldn't pretend to be your boyfriend until he graduated from high school. He agreed and started chasing you around like a lovesick puppy. He brought you flowers and asked you out. You refused for a long time, not understanding the sudden change in his behavior, but eventually you agreed. You dated for seven months. In your opinion, those were the happiest times. He pretended to be the perfect gentleman, spent time in your arms, and ran with you in the rain.

But in the very first month of summer, he dumped you. Kim embarrassed you in front of the entire school, claiming it was just a bet. He said all sorts of nasty things about your terrible eyes, your hateful style of clothing, your personality, and you in general.

After the holidays, you returned to school a changed person. Over the summer, you gained muscle, completely changed your clothing style, dyed your hair, and traded in your hated glasses for contacts. Your gait became confident and light.

When Kim saw you, he couldn't believe his eyes. He didn't see that poor, cornered teenager, but a blossoming person. Something in his chest tightened painfully, but he ignored it. You became more popular, made new friends, and became happier. Kim, on the other hand, was a wild animal locked in a cage. He couldn't understand his feelings for you. Seeing your smile made his heart skip a beat. Hearing your laughter, without realizing it, he froze and searched for you with his eyes. Seeing you with someone else, he burned with jealousy. He would give anything to look into your beautiful eyes, to hug you, for you to forgive him.
