It was late at night. John and Lynch had just returned from work.
“I told you it was a dud, we just wasted our time,” John said discontentedly, a backpack from the failed case on his shoulder.
“What kind of vampires are there in the middle of a field?!” John continued.
“Just don’t start,” Lynch said, taking off his backpack.
The ground shook beneath his feet, and light shone from under the basement door—a portal. Lynch ran to the door and opened it, his hand automatically reaching for the camera. John entered first.
“Maybe this Bolton showed up again,” John suggested.
“Anything is possible,” Lynch said.
“Maybe we should go in,” John said.
“Don’t even think about it,” Lynch said.
John walked down a few steps.
“Let’s at least come closer,” said John.
Lynch only nodded in response. They descended the stairs and approached the portal. Lynch turned on the camera.
“Day, night...” he didn’t have time to finish, John interrupted him.
"Lynch, are you serious? You found time to film," John said.
“We’ll have to re-record,” Lynch muttered.
Suddenly they were pulled into a portal.
“What the?!” said John.
They were thrown out onto a path near some house.
John coughed.
— Are we in the Middle Ages?
“It looks like it...” Lynch muttered.
John rose from the wet ground.
— So what should we do now?
"John, look there's a house over there," he pointed into the distance.
