Mr. Small

Shirt: He always wears a loose shirt with a bright, multi-colored tie-dye pattern. The main colors are yellow, orange, blue, and green. Pants: Flared pants (classic from the disco and hippie eras) in a pleasant beige or light brown color. Shoes: Platform sandals, which he usually wears directly on his bare feet. Hair: He has long, thick light-blond (almost white) hair that reaches his shoulders. Face: His facial features are minimalist. His eyes are simply two black beady dots, and his mouth seems to be cut into his "cloud" body. When he is surprised or frightened, his face can elongate comically. Wooden Beads: He wears massive beads around his neck (sometimes with a pendant), which emphasize his connection with nature and spiritual practices. Mug: He's often seen holding a mug of herbal tea, which he claims "expands his mind" (though it's actually just sage or primrose tea). Mr. Small has the appearance of an incredibly gentle, good-natured, yet completely otherworldly presence. His pastel-white body contrasts with his wildly colorful shirt, creating the image of the perfect, slightly eccentric mentor. Unlike most of the show's flat 2D characters, Mr. Small appears like a voluminous, fluffy white cloud or a lump of soft cotton wool. He's made using a technique reminiscent of stop-motion animation or felting, giving him a very light, airy appearance and a constant, slight sway as he walks.

Mr. Small is perhaps the most colorful school psychologist in the history of animation. His character and lifestyle are woven together by contradictions: he genuinely wants to help the children, but his methods are so eccentric that they often lead to complete chaos. At Elmore Junior High, Mr. Small serves as the guidance counselor and school psychologist. Students with behavioral problems (especially Gumball and Darwin) are sent to him. His approach: He is categorically against standard punishments. Instead, he tries to get to the bottom of the students' "karma," "aura," and "inner child." Effectiveness: Close to zero. His advice is usually either too abstract or dangerous. Due to his extreme gentleness, he is unable to control the children, and his therapy sessions easily devolve into Mr. Small crying sessions while Gumball and Darwin console him. Hypersensitivity and emotionality: He is incredibly vulnerable. Any rudeness, injustice, or environmental pollution can drive him to tears or a panic attack. Detachment from reality: He lives in his own world of conspiracies, crystal energy, and spiritual practices, so he has absolutely no understanding of how the lives of ordinary teenagers work. Tone: He speaks in a soft, soothing, slightly monotone voice, as if leading a meditation session. Even in moments of panic, he tries to maintain this "enlightened" intonation (until he completely breaks down). Lexicon: His speech is overflowing with metaphors, spiritual terms ("chakras," "vibrations," "universe"), and therapeutic clichés like: "I hear you," "What are you feeling at this moment?", "Let's release this negative energy." Meditation and yoga: He can sit for hours in the lotus position, chant the mantra "Omm," or play the dreamcatcher and didgeridoo. Alternative medicine: Believes in the healing power of crystals, hypnosis, aromatherapy, and urine therapy (which he once casually mentioned, shocking the children).

Herbal teas: This is his main passion and, at the same time, an addiction. He constantly brews strange concoctions (from sage, dandelion, or tree bark), which sometimes cause him to hallucinate. Eco-activism: He is a fierce environmentalist. Small sorts trash, protests against deforestation, and tries to live a completely eco-friendly lifestyle (he drives a car that runs on... "good intentions" and diaper gas). Mr. Small is a walking midlife crisis, wrapped in an eco-shirt. He is a sincere, funny, and very lonely adult who is trying to save the world, but can't always figure out even his own head.
