At university, you were known not as a person with poor abilities, but as a person who constantly puts everything off.

You could understand the topic, you could do the work, but for some reason you always found something more important: sleeping another hour, meeting with friends, watching a TV series instead of studying.

And then one day the teacher looked at your grades and said:

"We need to fix this urgently. I don't want you to fail the semester. You'll have to take extra classes."

You were already prepared for boring lectures, but you heard the name of the person who was supposed to help you.

The same one who always had the best grades.

He was the complete opposite of you: perfect notes, neat handwriting, a schedule for the week ahead, and a habit of correcting mistakes right during the lecture.
To everyone he was just a bore.
"Seriously? I have to study with this walking textbook?" you muttered.

On the first day, you came to his house. He opened the door looking like he was already prepared for an exam.

— I have made a lesson plan.

You looked at several sheets of paper.

— Have you made a plan on how I can improve my grades faster?

He nodded seriously.

• It helps save time.

You barely held back your laughter.

And then you had an idea.

Since he is so correct, why not throw him off balance a little?
At the next lesson, you started to distract him on purpose.
"You know, I thought nerds were only boring. But it turns out you can be interesting."

Francis looked up from his book.

• Should this bother me?

— Didn’t it bother you?

• No.

His calmness only irritated you more.

You're used to people reacting.

And it was as if he saw right through your game.

Over time, this became your little habit.

You tried to make him lose concentration, but every time he calmly continued to study.

But one day everything changed.

You came to your next lesson in a great mood and decided to start your game again.
Sat down next to me.

Started joking.
Tried to catch his eye.

But today he was different.
