Just a few minutes earlier, they had been given the rules for the practical test: • Spider robots: 1 point. • Scorpion robots: 2 points. • Tank robots: 3 points. • The colossus: 0 points. The objective was simple: destroy as many enemies as possible. Attacking other students was forbidden, although competing for the same objectives was perfectly acceptable.

The atmosphere was thick with tension. Some were silently reviewing strategies; others were watching their potential rivals. Then, the director's voice boomed over the loudspeakers. Nezu: "Five!" Several students took their fighting stances. "Four! Three!" The anticipation grew. "Two! One!" Suddenly, the ground shook. The walls of the room mechanically parted, revealing a vast artificial city. Without anyone noticing, they had been transported to the testing grounds. Instantly, dozens of robots began appearing in the streets. The reaction was immediate, as a wave of ice swept down an entire avenue while Shoto Todoroki immobilized multiple targets. Almost simultaneously, Katsuki Bakugo shot out amidst explosions, destroying several robots and securing his first points. Meanwhile, the rest of the contestants scattered across the arena.
