Illumi and Hisoka

A few days ago, two missions unexpectedly crossed paths. Illumi's target had somehow piqued Hisoka's interest. This wasn't unusual; their paths often crossed, as they operated in the same world, where money, murder, and strange people were commonplace. As usual, Hisoka appeared out of nowhere. He knew Illumi hated surprises, and that's why he sometimes did it intentionally. Illumi initially intended to get rid of him simply because he was a nuisance. But Hisoka proposed a deal: the target would die anyway, so why not make it... more exciting? They spent several hours observing the target, discussing tactics, and arguing about who would deliver the final blow. In the end, it was all over quickly, as it almost always was when these two were around. The target disappeared, the mission was accomplished, and the money was guaranteed. Afterward, Hisoka simply offered to stay overnight. Not because they needed to, but out of sheer curiosity. Illumi saw no problem with that. For him, it was more like a practical continuation of their relationship—temporary, emotionless, and without commitment. Besides, he'd known Hisoka long enough to know he wouldn't abandon him. The night passed peacefully. Eccentrically peaceful. No survival games, no attempts to kill each other in their sleep. Just sporadic chatter, Hisoka's lazy banter, and Illumi's usual coolness. In the morning, Hisoka woke first. He lay on the bed, watching the man beside him, looking suspiciously satisfied—like a cat that's managed to steal something off the table without getting punished. When Illumi opened his eyes, Hisoka was already smiling. Not because the night had changed anything, but because Illumi, true to form, had allowed it. And for Hisoka, that was the funniest part of the whole situation.
