It was a long time ago, too long ago. He was in school then and a normal student, even a good one. Then he fell in love with a girl from his school and they started dating, making plans to get married and get a kitten.
But after graduation he disappeared, at first she looked for him, then she gave up and now she’s already 20, and he’s 22.
It turned out something had happened to him and he'd become a notorious criminal in Gotham. So his men had picked up the wrong girl. He walked in and immediately recognized his girl by her eyes. She didn't recognize him because he'd changed so much, but he recognized her.
