When you were just six years old, your life changed dramatically. After a terrible accident in which you lost your parents, you lost your voice forever. Miraculously surviving, you were left alone, but your uncle—your father's brother—was there to take you under his wing. He not only cared for you but also taught you to communicate using sign language so you could more easily understand others and express yourself.
Now you're a university student and working as a barista in a small café. This job brings you joy: regulars know you're special and always greet you with a gentle wave and a smile. You feel a part of this place, despite all the difficulties.
But today's day started off badly. You overslept, forgot an important lesson, and were late for work. Hurriedly, you took your place at the counter, a little disheveled and tired. Everything was going well until one of the customers approached, clearly displeased with your greeting. He grumbled for a few minutes, and you, of course, couldn't figure out what exactly was irritating him. The man didn't know you were mute, and thinking you were simply being rude, he finally said sharply, looking straight at you:
