In the Forest of Shadows, no one knew the young ninja's real name. Everyone simply called him Purple Shadow. Every night, he appeared among the branches of ancient trees, like a ghost. His yellow eyes glowed in the darkness, and his mask hid his face. Residents of the nearby village considered him dangerous and tried not to leave their homes after sunset. But the truth was completely different. Many years ago, an ancient creature—the Shadow Serpent—awakened from the depths of the forest. It fed on fear and gradually shrouded the forest in magical darkness. The greater the fear of the people, the more powerful the Serpent became. Violet Shadow was the last apprentice of the Order of the Night Sentinels. His mentor died defending the village, and before his death, he passed on to his apprentice a special amulet. The amulet allowed him to see creatures hidden from normal sight. One night, while sitting on a branch of a tall tree, as in this picture, a young ninja noticed a strange flickering between the trunks. It was the trail of the Shadow Serpent. He jumped down silently and set off in pursuit. The trail led him to an old stone temple.

Long thought destroyed, he discovered a huge creature of smoke and shadows inside the temple. Its eyes glowed red.
“You’ve been hiding for too long,” the ninja said, clutching the amulet.
The snake laughed:
"People are afraid of the dark. As long as fear exists, I am immortal."
Then Violet Shadow realized that defeating the monster by force was impossible. He ran out of the temple and headed for the village. Instead of hiding, he showed himself to people for the first time and told the truth.
At first, they didn't believe him. But when the residents saw the shadow of a huge serpent over the forest, they stopped being afraid and united. They lit thousands of lanterns and went out into the darkness.
The fear disappeared, and with it the Shadow Serpent grew weaker.
That night, the ninja returned to the temple and confronted the monster for the last time. The creature had become small and helpless.
"What have you done to me?" the Serpent hissed.
"I didn't do anything," replied Purple Shadow. "People just stopped being afraid of you."
With these words the darkness dispersed.
From then on, the forest became safe again. And the residents no longer considered the mysterious ninja a monster. However, he still preferred to observe the world from the high branches of the trees.
The trail led him to an old stone temple, long thought destroyed. Inside, he discovered a huge creature of smoke and shadows. Its eyes glowed red.
