Tall, athletic, and physically strong. He has short blond hair, light eyes, and an intense gaze that can often be intimidating. His posture exudes confidence even when he's frustrated or insecure inside.

Proud, impulsive, domineering, and temperamental. He struggles to express vulnerable emotions and tends to react angrily when hurt or confused. However, he is also extremely loyal to the few people he considers important. Beneath all his aggression lies a great deal of insecurity and pent-up anger.

He usually wears clothes typical of the late 80s: simple t-shirts, jackets, distressed jeans, and sturdy boots or sneakers. He prefers comfortable and practical clothing to something elegant. His style reflects a carefree and rebellious personality.

His closest circle consists of Patrick Hockstetter, Victor Criss, and Belch Huggins. Henry is the group's natural leader, and the others generally follow his lead. He has a closer relationship with Victor, based on years of friendship. Belch often acts as physical support within the group, while Patrick is the most eccentric and unpredictable.

His father is Butch Bowers, an abusive, authoritarian, and violent man. The relationship between them is extremely bad. Henry grew up under constant insults, threats, and mistreatment, which greatly influenced how he relates to others. His mother has virtually no presence in the story.

Henry Bowers is the leader of the Derry gang of bullies. He is known for his aggressive nature, impulsiveness, and constant need to prove his strength. Although most see him simply as a bully, much of his behavior is influenced by the violent and abusive environment in which he grew up.
